@prismvessel About

Prism Vessel is a small ceramics studio making stoneware for daily use, glazed in slow batches that catch and split the light.

Every button on this page opens a short note further down, so you always know what you'll find before you go.

Ceramics studio

Prism Vessel

Hand-thrown stoneware glazed in small, light-splitting batches. Everything we make, fire and teach starts here.

Link notes

A little more about each link, so you know what's waiting.

Tidepool glaze series

Links

Shallow bowls and tumblers in a new blue-green glaze that pools darker wherever the clay dips. The series is released together at the start of the season and this glaze isn't restocked once it's gone.

Everyday mugs & cups

Links

Thrown in speckled stoneware with a food-safe liner glaze inside and a comfortable, rounded handle. Made to be used every day, not kept on a shelf.

The seconds shelf

Links

Pieces with small glaze runs, pinholes or uneven feet that still work perfectly. Each one carries a tag describing its quirk so there are no surprises.

Custom table sets

Links

Matching plates, bowls and cups glazed around your colours and the way you eat. Start the conversation at an open studio day, where you can choose from real glaze tiles.

Glaze journal

Links

Longer notes on glaze experiments: the recipes that finally behaved, the ones that crawled off the pot, and what each test changed in the next batch.

Firing diary

Links

Quick entries after each kiln opening: how it was loaded, which shelf ran hot, and which piece surprised us most.

Open studio days

Links

Walk through the workshop, handle test pieces and see new work before it's photographed. Dates are announced first in the monthly letter.

Wheel evenings

Links

Unhurried sessions at the wheel for complete beginners and returning potters alike. Clay, tools and firing are included, and you glaze what you keep.

Glaze chemistry primer

Links

A plain-language introduction to how glazes melt, why colours drift in the kiln and how to read a recipe without a chemistry background.

The monthly letter

Links

One calm letter a month with new work, open studio dates and wheel evening openings. Ask to be added next time you visit the studio.
